Boys Tennis team nabs third straight District title

The Irish boys tennis team hosted Greenwood in third and championship round of the MSHSAA Class 1, District 10 tournament. The team's 18-1 record awarded a bye in the first round and pitted them against fellow COC Small member Rogersville in the 2nd. The Irish took a 5-0 victory over Rogersville and won by the same margin today over Greenwood.

Kroutil/Chanliongco (SCHS) over Fletcher/Grace (GHS) 8-1
Croley/Mullins (SCHS) over Litherland/Haverstick (GHS) 8-1

Nayar (SCHS) over Henry (GHS) 6-0, 6-0
Steiner (SCHS) over Dukewits (GHS) 6-0, 6-0

The Irish picked up right where they left off in the 2017 season, racking up win after win. The only loss on the year came at the hands of Joplin in the Springfield Invitational on April 19th.

The team will enter MSHSAA sectional play on May 19th and will head to Joplin to challenge Thomas Jefferson Independent Day High School (10-2 on the season).
