Hathcock Medals at State Track: Majorahn Breaks School Triple Jump Record

Kyle Hathcock, a sophomore from Springfield Catholic, placed 6th in the Class 3 Boys 3200 Meter Run at the MSHSAA State Championships in Jefferson City May 23-24th, 2025 with a strong time of 9:41.41. 

Hathcock has had a strong sophomore running season, earning All State Honors with a 15th place finish at the State Cross Country meet this fall.  He also qualified for State in the the 1600m run by finishing 2nd at Sectionals with a 4:33.96. Hathcock ran a 4:30.84 at the State Championships to earn 12th in the 1600m.

His teammate, senior Clayton Eck also capped off a great season with a 15th place finish in the 3200m with a time of 10:42.68. Eck will continue his cross-country and track career at Drury University. 

Springfield Catholic Triple Jump record holder Tori Majorahn (senior) placed 10th at the Class 3 State Championships with a distance of 10.39m. Majorahn broke the the 26-year-old Springfield Catholic Triple Jump record with a distance of 10.63m (34' 10 1/2") at the Sectional meet on May 17th hosted by Mountain Grove High School. The previous record of 34'7" was set by Liz Fish in 1998.
